Friends Report:
Friends will be having a meeting next week. They are organizing books for the book sale.

Correspondence/Communications:
Madrid library thanks us for the circulation desk and sent a $300 donation.
The Boat Club requests chairs and tables from us for the Road Race and for a picnic in August; the Friends will help with this.

Minutes of the previous meeting were approved: Motion by JoAnn, seconded by Sam.

Chief Financial Officer’s report was accepted: Motion by Don, seconded by Sam.

Report of the Library Director was accepted.

Old Business
Helena is in better health and will be returning to work for us. Sandy Griffin is also on board; she has been trained and approved by the town board.

Construction grant update: Dan Montroy has given us a blueprint for the bathroom remodeling.
Cindy presented this to the town board last week; they were okay with it but would prefer an air dryer rather than paper towels. We have to find out the specific height for the rails to be ADA
compliant. Dan can come back to do an estimate on a wheelchair lift next. NCLS will come here next Tuesday (9:30am-11.30am) to look things over and help us going forward.
Banking update: Kate and Cindy didn’t get a chance to go to SeaComm in Potsdam yet. Don needs to sign at the papers at Community Bank.
Nancy said she would take over payroll at end of the month.

New Business
In order to make the library completely handicap-accessible at all times, we may want to think about a doorbell (doubtful) or different lock-out timing settings for the post office door.
Marilyn is going to the town board to ask about replacing the rickety doors downstairs.
Rod Fraser is working out his summer schedule and will play for us at a date to be determined.
Koehler and Kelly, the fiddling duo, will play on August 16 th ; the Friends may co-sponsor; the cost is $750 total. We will have a magician performing on June 26 th at 6:30pm.
We need to get the curtains up at the pavilion.
We should try to make sure that a donation jar (the previous one or a new one) is available at our events, especially the events at the pavilion. The jar should say “Library” on it so that attendees know who’s sponsoring the event.
Kate went to the library Showcase Showdown and spoke about grant-getting.
July 10 is our open house for community leaders; Assemblyman Robert Smullen will attend; Joe Griffo has not RSVP’d.

Next monthly meeting: Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at 6:00 pm in the Library.

Meeting was adjourned at 6:37 pm. Motion by Don, seconded by Sam.
