Board of Trustees Minutes
March 16, 2020

Present: President Cindy Whitmore, Nicole Curry, Don Lashomb, Library Director Susan (Kate) Kosier.
Absent: JoAnn Young.
The meeting was called to order at 6:01 pm by President Cindy Whitmore.

Friends Report:
None.

Correspondence/Communications:
None.

Minutes of the previous meeting were approved: Motion by Don, seconded by Nicole.

No Financial report this month. We will have multiple reports next time. Nancy doesn’t seem to have entered savings account transactions from last year into a spreadsheet.

Report of the Library Director was accepted.

Old Business
The traveling movie theater arrived at the Griffins’ house today. The April 9 date to show “The Wizard of Oz” was approved by the school, but is now off due to virus closure. We will have to reschedule or proceed without a movie at the school.
Cindy brought up the construction grant idea at the town board meeting. The board said to “Go ahead forward, but we don’t know if we have the money”. Kate will get an estimate from Dean Kerr.

We’re still looking for a new trustee. We have some ideas and will continue to put feelers out. Kate has submitted her end-of-year report, and Nancy has submitted the yearly audit.
Annual report approval: Motion by Cindy, seconded by Don.
A copy of last month’s minutes were signed by Don, and Kate dropped the papers off at Community Bank, so they now have our updated information for authorized signers.

New Business
At the town board meeting Cindy and Kate also expressed concern about the state of the building, particularly the ice on the stairs and the ramp not being shoveled. There doesn’t seem to be a sense of who’s responsible for maintaining these aspects of the building during winter.
Supervisor Hooven said the town board will “give it some consideration.”
Earth Day is next month. Cindy and Kate have various ideas for displays on this topic.
COVID-19: Kate had a directors’ call at 3pm today. Libraries in the area are shutting down as is most of NCLS. There will be no interlibrary loans. Trustees would like to open our library on Wednesdays, Wednesday nights, and Saturdays, then revisit matters at a meeting two weeks from now (March 30). [Secretary’s note: This plan never went into effect due to the Community Center’s closure the next day 3/17.]

Next monthly meeting: Tuesday, April 21, 2020 at 6:00 pm in the Library.
